gave several loving and incredible talks to the crowd of attentive Parrot
Heads, along with autographing all the willing young ladies from head to toe!

Now let's talk about the Saturday night entertainment artist who rocked the crowd from 8PM until closing time. The young man who I am about to introduce to the world of BARMUSIC.COM, has been playing in Florida for as long as Jimmy Buffett himself. His name is PATRICK FOY and the CONCH CRITTERS is the band to die for! I met Patrick over a year ago in Port Richey at a local hangout and have been meaning to catch up with him again. Patrick is a singer/musician/song writer who can do all of the old Buffett songs with precision and soul, and play lead guitar at the same time. This guy is world class for sure! Even though Patrick just had major surgery on his knee, he still played with all his heart to keep the TBPHC party rocking all night! Patrick has at least one CD out that we will be featuring on RADIO BARMUSIC in the near future with an interview of this home grown Florida treat. My hat is off to this stellar performer! Check out his web site below:
PS: Went to see Jimmy Buffett's movie "HOOT". I think it is a great movie and the scenery and music was touching. It is a family suitable flick and in a world of "BIGGER FISH TO FRY", it is refreshing to see someone give a "HOOT" about the small things that are seemingly less important to the human race. Good job Jimmy! If the asteroids and volcanoes and hurricanes don't get us all, maybe the owl will survive too! Are Hoot Owls going to be the next superior life form on earth??? I wonder if owls will have to pay taxes and watch their diets, or have environmentalists groups to prevent global freezing if they out live us humans?? As the song says:
" I WANT TO BE THE LAST OWL STANDING, DIGGING IN THE BACK YARD, LOOKING OUT A HOLE, I WANT TO BE THE LAST OWL STANDING, BRING ON THE BIG BACK HOE!"
Just as a brief note, The Caribbean Chillers show Friday night went on in a big
way, despite the bad weather forecasts. Jason Webb somehow made the clouds go
away completely in a week of storms, and the evening and the weather was heavenly
beyond expectations. Down town New Port Richey was rocking like never before
with a huge crowd of thousands and the hottest Buffett tribute band in Florida!
The Caribbean Chillers will be at it again Friday Night, 8-18-06, in down town
New Port Richey, for the annual "A Night In The Tropics", sponsored by Alltel. This was a huge event
last year! Check out the link below for details.
The Chillers will be on the MARGARITAVILLE STAGE.
Listen to WJQB, 106 FM, for fun details also!!!
The results are in!!! Here are the top 10 finalists for the BARMUSIC.COM SONG OF THE YEAR 2005

WHAT HAPPENS IN KEY WEST NEVER HAPPENED - STARS ON THE WATER
The 4th of July in Homestead Florida was a real treat for me. The Caribbean
Chillers secured a Trailways bus for the band and fans to ride from Orlando to
Homestead and back. What a fun trip! You really get to know folks on a bus!
The show was out of this world. There were dancers and stilt walkers and a
huge number of fans showed up (3-5,000??) to see JASON WEBB put on a Jimmy
Buffett tribute show like no other I have ever seen. The fun was on the stage,
and we had the luck of Tom "T.C." Mitchell playing with the band for 3 1/2 hours.
In case you have not heard of the "CARIBBEAN CHILLERS", check out the links
below. The band has trombone, horn, sax, keyboards, bass, congas, drums,
lead and rhythm guitars, and excellent vocalists (female too!). The dancers make you feel like
you are at a real Buffett concert for sure!
Thank you Jason, for making me
feel like part of the gang! I actually felt as humble as George Plimpton, the
year he got to join The Detroit Lions, so he could write his book and make
his movie about what it was like to play pro football. I now know what it is
like to play in front of a really big crowd with a rock star(s)! What a natural high it is!
The really cool thing about the show was all the Parrot Heads who came from
as far away as Tampa to dance on top the dugouts, before security could
throw them out. What a party! Tampa Parrot Heads, you rock!!
Oh, by the way, mark the 4th of July for HOMESTEAD FLORIDA! The CARIBBEAN
CHILLERS will be putting on a show for the City of Homestead beyond belief!
Rumor has it that even old Hurricane Gordon will be on hand, along with
several Coral Reefer band member greats!
5000? 15000?? WHO KNOWS!
Man, if you think MOTM ever had a big crowd, check this out! The annual PALM
HARBOR PARROT PARTY had over 5,000 folks (I think more like 10,000!) on hand for this incredible event
put on by the TAMPA BAY PARROT HEAD CLUB and the City of Palm Harbor Florida!
The feature act was the CARIBBEAN CHILLERS, lead by Jason Webb.
There is a great new band and CD out that has my old friend Charlie Loach
and Sven-Erik Seaholm featured, that you should check out if you are a heavy rocker!
Charlie is the lead guitar player, and has played with a lot of us over the years. Sven produces his own CD's too!
The group is known as the "WILD TRUTH", and their new CD is entitled "THE
GOLDEN ERA". The opening song "YEAH" rocks for sure. Check out their web site
below.
Congratulations go to TAYLOR HICKS for winning the hearts and souls of America
last night on AMERICAN IDOL with his SOUL PATROL! Katherine McPhee was not a
looser by any means. She will make America proud also, along with Taylor. I
was impressed with the entire top 12 on the show this year. It was really a
tough call throwing any of these fine singers off the show. I liked them all!
I would like to pass along our prayers to EARL HALL, who passed away Tuesday
night. Our tribute concert last month was held not a day too soon. Sometimes
the almighty powers from above know how to organize and plan our existence
right down to the hour, minute and second. Our prayers also go to Earl's
daughter and husband, Marlene and Lou Longo. Earl was a fine man, and we
will miss him forever. Services will be held Friday, May 26th, at 10AM, at
R. Lee Williams Funeral Home in St.Petersburg Florida.
The T. Scott Walker show was just placed on deck at RADIOBARMUSIC.COM !!!
Congratulations T Scott! This show was a real treat to record with a very
talented young man. Check it out now. It is on the air every other hour
for the next few days!!!
The song of the year competition is now officially concluded! Thanks for sending in the incredible number of votes. The candidates were very worthy indeed!
Results will be announced at a future show.
Yesterday, a special tribute show was held for a dear friend of ours who is
battling cancer. Earl Hall, a successful business man in Florida's Pinellas
county for many years, had a large crowd of friends and family gather for
a beautiful spring afternoon at his large estate in St.Petersburg Florida,
where Jack Rigsby and Hurricane Gordon performed songs to brighten his day!
Earl is the father of our good friend Marlene Longo (& husband Lou Longo).
Our prayers and hearts are pulling for Earl to heal up and live on with
quality!
WOW!, Has the song of the year contest drawn some serious voting! I am so
excited about the new songs that have been submitted so far. Please ask
your nominees to send us a CD that has their songs on it so we can hear
them all! We are going to close off the voting officially on tax day,
April 15, 2006, for this year's competition. The results will be held
top secret until later in the year at an appropriate venue and event for
such a new exciting competition. GET YOUR VOTES IN SOON!
Unlike American Idol, who a lot of us really like and enjoy, we will not
torture or embarrass any of the nominees in public. The idea we have in
mind is to allow the best songs to float to the top without hurting
anyone's feelings in the process. All artists are very sensitive individuals
who do not like their feelings to be hurt, or to be left out on purpose.
Just because your song does not win does not mean you might not have the
best song ever written, or that you might not make more money off of it
than anyone else ever did, it simply means the fans that have heard the
songs are emphatic about liking your song. That is a good meter, however!
Saturday night at the REEF on St.Petersburg Beach Florida was a real fun night
full of surprises! T.Scott Walker from Mt. Dora Florida and Jack Rigsby joined
"Hurricane" Gordon on stage for a night of impromptu fun and celebration.
T.Scott Walker plays regularly at Margaritaville in Orlando and has a new CD
out entitled "VACATION SITUATION". T.Scott's song "Thank God For Palm Trees"
has been nominated for song of the year for 2005 by his many fans.
Many songs have been nominated so far for song of the year and I can't list
them all, but the competition is heating up. The artist list is growing every
day! Here are some, but not all of the nominees:
Stars On The Water
Hugo Duarte
Rick Steffen
Rob Mehl
T. Scott Walker
Gary Seiler
Bob Karwin
Jon Clarkson
Rick Eubanks
Crosswinds
WOW!! The response from fans is incredible! There are several hotly contested
nominations getting lots, and I means lots of votes! The top 10-12 songs will
be featured on our first ever CD from Barmusic entitled "THE BEST OF BARMUSIC.COM 2005". Get your fan clubs together and have them nominate your best song of
the year now!
This year we are going to honor the original song of the year written and
produced by any member or artist(s) featured on BARMUSIC.COM . Please ask all
your friends to vote, because this will be the very first year we have taken
a step towards picking out the best song from a very diverse and talented
group of artists, writers and musicians. The winner of this competition will
receive special promotion by BARMUSIC.COM, yet to be fully disclosed. This
competition will receive major attention by several recording labels. <--
Don't ask who yet, it is confidential at this point. A deadline for voting
has not been set yet. We need to get the word out that the competition is on!
